Weedooboats - Founders

Weedoo founders, Phil and John Grimes

Many people express their concerns about the environment, but few do anything about it. Weedoo founder John Grimes was a man of action. Faced with the challenge of finding an environmentally friendly solution to clear weeds from their lake, John—along with his wife, Tara, a founding participant in Weedoo, and his father, Phil—took matters into their own hands by inventing one.

John’s goal was to discover a method that could effectively clean lakes and streams without causing significant harm to the water. With Tara’s early involvement and support, he embarked on the task of developing a mechanical approach, requiring a vessel that was not only user-friendly but also robust enough to handle the job. That vessel was the first Weedoo.

Based in South Florida with over 20 years of experience, Weedoo has solidified its position as the industry’s premier manufacturer of environmental workboats and amphibious work equipment. Our Mission

It is Weedoo’s mission to provide the most advanced, environmentally friendly shoreline equipment available. This will enable governments, service providers, and private owners to cost-effectively clean the world’s waterways of invasive vegetation, algae, refuse, and other pollutants without the use of carcinogenic chemicals.
